Our favourite fork hoe is the Burgon and Ball RHS-approved Digging Hoe which is a full sized digging fork with curved tines that are perfect for digging. It is a very strong tool that has been forged and made with high tensile steel for strength and toughness.
There is also a smaller version of this called the Border Fork which was once very un-PC and is ideal if you have light, sandy or loamy ground and want to avoid the kind of hard graft that the Digging Fork is best for. It is less robust than the fork hoe but has enough clout to work in problem soils and a good choice if you do not want to wear out your back or your usual digging fork.
